ROLE OF PARENTS DURING FIRST DENTAL VISIT OF THEIR CHILDREN
  • Make an appointment with your Dentist during suitable time for your child. Try to avoid appointments during their nap times, meal time and avoid when they are sick.
  • Start preparing your child even before the dental appointment by reading dental stories or by playing dental cartoons.
  • Do not express fear towards dentistry in front of your child.
  • It is necessary to carry your child’s medical record to give a clear picture to your dentist.
  • Let your child carry her own toys when she visits Dentist.
  • 1st appointment will take a longer time, its better to give some time for child to adapt to the dental environment and Dentist.
  • Never say Dentist will give you injections when you don’t listen, this might create a fear factor and the child will never be comfortable on a dental chair.
